Hello all~
It has taken me a lot longer than I thought it would to sit right down and write yourselves this letter.
Cue classic jazz tune:
This is a little note to touch base with all of you that signed up for my artist newsletter or who subscribed to my Art and Adventure for Ape Conservation blog many moons ago.
Since my orbit around publishing this newsletter is proving quite wide, I wanted to direct those looking to stay abreast of upcoming performances to a website called Bandsintown. There you can sign up to get email notifications for upcoming shows.
Here’s a link to my Bandsintown page: Junebug on Bandsintown. I am diligent about keeping my schedule up to date on there, so that would be a good place to check out if its live shows you are interested in.
In the meantime, since I’ve got you here, I’ll let you know what musical happenings are happenin’ this weekend:
Saturday 5:30pm-7:30pm at Seascape Beach Resort Lounge
Sunday 10am-noon at California Coffee // 20% off coffee and a bagel for seniors! // Dog friendly
Sunday 3-5pm with drummer and Bonafide RVT, Joe Perez (aka Pat Brown). // Dog friendly
These are all free shows fit for all ages and will lead you on a musical journey through time from the 1920s-present with guitar, harmonica, and kazoo.
For those of you who are steadfast followers of Art and Adventure for Ape Conservation, the blog that started it all, the journey continues. I am glad to be writing here again and intend to interweave artist updates with eco musings moving forward, so stay tuned.
I’ll leave you all with this, a soundbite from my tap-dancing days in New York City.
This is from a bluegrass jam at a pub called Sonny’s Bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It was my first open jam as a tap dancer in a room full of non-tap dancers. Enjoy! The link takes you to a classic tune called “Midnight Special” lead by a kooky singing pianist. I get my very own dance break somewhere in there and you can hear me tapping thought the song. The full clip is 3 hours and full of gems if you’re keen to take a listen.
Fun fact and full circle, it was at this jam that I first heard the tune “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter” which is linked at the start of this message. I am currently learning to play this delightful, classic tune on guitar and will be featuring in a show real soon.
That’s all for now folks!
Aloha~
Junebug

Looking forward to your rendition of I’m Going To Sit Right Down and Write Myself a letter!
